SIPO: CHINA TO OPEN PATENT DATA

SIPO has started trial operations of an online patent information system that offers free updates and downloads of patent data from China and abroad.

The system allows the general public to access at free all the patent documents and their updates archived by IP offices of China, the United States, the European Union, Japan and South Korea - which account for about 80% of the total global data.

The system is meant to deal with challenged amid the period of shifting gears in economic growth via innovation - driven development. And it will also help increase transparency and the authority of the patent examination process, and advance the country’s development based on the rule of law.
