The city of Urumqi, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, sent a delegation of representatives of a dozen of its pharmaceutical companies to the 72th PharmChina to promote their products and attract new customers. PharmChina is a pharmaceutical fair held in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, in late November. It attracted more than 2,000 enterprises from across China with thousands of offerings, such as chemicals, biomedicines, patent medicines, health products and medical equipment. The delegation held a forum and managed to sign contracts worth nearly 70 million yuan ($11 million), a rise of 20 percent over the last fair.They also visited the Shennong Caotang Museum at the Baiyunshan Heji Huangpu Traditional Chinese Medicine Co, where they got ideas on how to make use of Xingjiang’s resources and develop tourism related to modern pharmaceuticals.
