Professor DENG Haifeng, PhD is a Fellow at gLAWcal – Global Law Initiatives for Sustainable Development and was a EU Commission Marie Curie Fellow and Visiting Scholar (2014-2015) at gLAWcal – Global Law Initiatives for Sustainable Development in the framework of the People Programme (Marie Curie Actions) of the European Union's Seventh Framework Programme (FP7/2007-2013) under REA grant agreement n°269327 Acronym of the Project: EPSEI (2011-2015) “Evaluating Policies for Sustainable Energy Investments: Towards an Integrated Approach on National and International Stage”.
Professor Deng Haifeng is a full time Associate Professor of Law School, Tsinghua University, China, Assistant Dean and the Vice director of the Center for Environmental, Natural Resources & Energy Law of Tsinghua University. His research is focusing on environmental law, nature resource law and energy law.
He has been an official expert and consultant for several legislation drafting on environmental protection and sustainable development such as the revision on the Environmental Protection Act of China; the Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution by Solid Waste of China; the Circular Economy Promotion Act; the Water Pollution Control Act of China; the revision on the Atmospheric Dyeing Prevention Act. Professor Deng Haifeng has been Principal Investigator of 22 relevant projects concerning the Environmental law, energy law and the Environmental management, such as: 1) “Studies on the Legal System about Environmental Usufruct” sponsored by the Ministry of Education of People’s Republic of China; 2) “Studies on Environmental Impact Assessment Implementing Regulations” sponsored by the Ministry of Environmental Protection of People’s Republic of China; 3) The official version of the draft of the Marine Environmental Protection Law” sponsored by the State’s Oceanic Administration of People’s Republic of China; 4) “Studies on Legal System about Marine Environmental Emission Right” sponsored by the National Oceanic Development Center of People’s Republic of China; 5) “The academic version of the draft of Energy comprehensive law” sponsored by National Energy Leading Committee of State Council of People’s Republic of China; 6) “The official version of the draft of Climate Change Law”

Professor Deng Haifeng has been member of the research team of 20 relevant projects concerning the Nature resource Law, energy law and the Environmental management, such as 1) Studies on Clean development mechanism between China and Japan, 2) Studies on the management system of environmental NGOs, 3) Studies on the creation of environmental economy and the creation environmental law.
Through above research activities, Professor Deng had published 31 academic papers, 3 books and an encyclopedia of environmental law.
Professor Deng earned a Bachelor Degree and a Master Degree (LL.M.) in law from Hei Long Jiang University Law School, a PhD in Law from Tsinghua University Law School and a Postdoctoral Degree from Tsinghua University School of Public Policy and management He has been a Visiting Scholar in different institutions such as King’s College London, Law School (United Kingdom), Seoul University (Korea), New York University, Law School (USA), Universidad Autónoma de Madrid Faculty of Law (Spain) sponsored by Erasmus Mundus Action 2, Lot China, Ghent University Faculty of Law (Belgium) sponsored by IUCN Environmental
Law Academy, University of Texas at Austin, Law School (USA) UC Berkeley Law School (USA), University of Turin Law School (Italy), Lund University, Faculty of Political Sciences and International Relations (Sweden).
