Since March 2013, Riccardo has been a Research Associate at gLAWcal – Global Law Initiatives for Sustainable Development. Riccardo works as an Associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP. He joined the firm in Rome in 2013 and was resident in the Milan office in 2017 and in the Washington D.C. office in 2018.

He joined the firm in Rome in 2013 and was resident in the Milan office in 2017 and in the Washington D.C. office in 2018.
He received an LLM from Harvard Law School (USA) a as Fulbright Scholar (Dean’s Scholar Prize in international economic law and Ermenegildo Zegna Founder’s Scholar). While at Harvard, he was co-president of the Harvard Italian Law Association, an Executive Board member of the Harvard Law School Lambda Association, and a contributor to the online component (JOLT Digest) of the Harvard Journal of Law & Technology, Contributor.
Riccardo also holds a PhD in European Union law at the University of Naples Federico II (Italy), a SJD in international economic law at the Jiaotong University in Shanghai (China), and JD from the University of Milan (Italy).
Prior to joining Cleary Gottlieb, Riccardo worked as a Visiting Researcher at Edge Hill University (UK) and a European Union Commission Marie Curie Fellow at the Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences in Beijing (China). He also worked at the Fair Trade Advocacy office in Brussels (Belgium).
Riccardo’s practice focuses on European and Italian competition law, administrative litigation, and regulation in network industries. He has experience advising clients on abuse of dominant position proceedings, cartels, and State aid. He is a member of the Milan Bar and a member of the International Committee of the Milan Bar. Italian native speaker, he is fluent in English, French and Portuguese.
